Jewish life in Wangen
Guided tour with Helmut Fidler

Jewish life in cheeks
Following in the footsteps of the Jewish writer Jacob Picard, the historian and Lake Constance guide Helmut Fidler will provide information on Thursday June 10th and August 12th. and October 6, 2021 about the coexistence of Jews and Christians on the Höri peninsula. For over three hundred years there was a Jewish community in Wangen (today a part of Öhningen), whose everyday life Jacob Picard recorded in his stories from rural Jewry. The hike leads through the lower village, which is characterized by Jewish houses, into the Jacob Picard memorial room in the former town hall and further up to the Jewish cemetery, which is located on the edge of the forest above the village.
